Since our campaign launch in early February 2012, we have had a great response. We hope this commitment from our friends, families and our communities may continue.
Update 15thMarch….17th March is our Charity Bike Ride from Dewsbury Town Hall to Bradford Lister Park. We have amazing support so far. We have over 40+ registered riders on the day. We have been loaned 20 bikes all together by IMWS in Batley, Westborough High School Dewsbury, and over 15 Bikes and Riders from Batley Business & Enterprise College.
MP Simon Reevell will be officially setting us off on Saturday at around 10.45AM. We will be travelling all together in a convoy. This is not a race, but an event to raise Disability Awareness. I will be updating this blog after the event as there are just too many people to thank.
25th February saw a Charity football match between Fathers and Son. It was a wild windy day but over 125 + people and supporters turned up on the day. After the photo shoot for our local press, we got down to business. We had over 40+ willing football players. In the end Sons team won by 7-4 and we raise over £412.37 on the day.
Next event coming up is the Bike ride on 17th March. We will be riding from Batley / Dewsbury to Bradford and back. Our local IMWS has provided us with a 6 loaned bikes. We need as many people as possible for this event. Lets create a carnival event and again raise as much awareness of Disability in Childrens as possible.
21st March is the World Down Syndrome day. To celebrate this great event both Bradford and Wakefield support group are having a huge party. Everyone is welcome.
